First Look: Pizza Vinoteca

Come for the (grilled) pizza, stay for the wine!

Yes, grilled pizza. Pizza Vinoteca is the only place you will find this technique in town which results in a flavorful, slightly smokey pizza crust. They even use red wine in the dough! The menu is filled with delicious takes on classics like a Hawaiian pizza - sans canned pineapple chunks. Only the freshest, seasonal ingredients here. They add fresno peppers and prosciutto for a kick against the tart and sweet of the fresh pineapple. Or maybe their house pizza is more up your alley with fresh mozzarella and fontina.

Or how about this brussel sprout pizza? The menu is ever-changing depending on the season and availability.

With over 30 options for wines by the glass AND all under $10, you can't go wrong with a visit to Pizza Vinoteca. New to the Ballston dining scene, Ari Malcolm is bringing Old World wines to your glass. No confusing wine list here, find what you're looking for with their easy to learn list separated by body and food pairings.

They have all wine bottles in a CO2 controlled apparatus which keeps the wine as fresh as possible.  This allows Pizza Vinoteca to offer a wide array of wines, all by the glass.

Oh, and how about the prices! You can stop in for a pizza and a glass of wine and not spend more than $20, now that's a deal! All wines are priced under $10/glass and pizzas start at only $8.

They also serve brunch on weekends and I cannot wait to try that out.

Stay tuned for an upcoming Young Winos event at Pizza Vinoteca on April 16th.  We'll see you there!
